The SCREAM thread

I'd love another dog now, I think I'm over my last dog who passed away years ago. Maybe a GSD or a wee poodle. Would not get another Border Collie, they are a lot of work but they are still my fave breed. :)

AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH !

Seriously. I am going insane. I need to be up at 5am. Travelling to a work meeting. But am I asleep? Like hell I am. My feet are driving me 'Mike-foxtrot' crazy, not just pinprick pain, but pummelling pain, like my soles are being punched. It's like they know and are doing it deliberately. I even took some nytol but am I asleep? Not a chance. Even my scalp is crawling and prickling, along with random prickles on my skin.

I'm crazy tired already and now this, I'll be like an ****** zombie tomorrow.

Grrrrrr

Awful - I know this feeling well. The more you can't sleep, the more stressed you get, and the more stressed you get, the more you can't sleep! I don't know if this will help for the future, Paula, but when I get restless legs or painful feet at night I put the light on, sit up in bed and massage moisturising lotion into my feet and legs. Might be worth a try...? I hope you got some sleep last night and that you're ok today. Hugs x

@debrasue yep I have a ritual of Voltarol, Deep Heat and Vicks that I massage into my feet.

I've been awake since half three. Got up at half four. Got an earlier bus and train. Have had 40 winks on train.

Try arnica cream as well. It's marketed for bruising but it works by dissipating the blood from the bruise by increasing the blood flow to the area. Works for me to help the tootsies also when they're cold

I am in such a foul mood and I will not be responsible for what I do to the next company that p****s me off!

1) Went to pick up my repeat prescription from the chemist. It shuts at 1pm on a Saturday. I was later than I thought but got there at 12.58 to find it shut! :mad:I have now run out of Rampril and some eye drops. I won't be able to pick them up until Tuesday as the shop is shut when I'm not working! :***: It also means that I will have to deal with the rude assistant. I have sent an email about all of this so hopefully the shop will shut at 1.00 on the dot!

2) Bought a lovely purse from Laura Ashley in November as my Aunt's Christmas present to me. It was more expensive than I usually pay but it was what I wanted. As my sight is not brilliant it's lining was light so I could see inside. It had 2 large sections to put coins in. 1 & 2 pound coins in one, silver in the other. (coppers go into the charity jar) Lots of room for cards. Yesterday one of the zips disintegrated. Completely crumbled. :( I would expected a purse from Laura Ashley would last longer than 4 months!:***: I have emailed them.

3) Local Tesco has stopped selling loose grapes. You can only buy them in plastic punnets. I try not to buy goods in extra wrapping. They are dictating to me how much grapes I am to have, which is too much for just me and you can't feel how fresh they are grrrr.:banghead: Now I will go to somewhere else to shop. I have emailed them! :yuck:
Just hope these companies listen. :(

Different sort of scream this afternoon.....
OK, so I probably shouldn't have been trying to move the (5-seater) sofa by myself, but I certainly wasn't expecting the loud 'pop' from the region of my left shoulder and the lightning-bolt of excruciating pain down my arm when I gave a good heave. Oh, yes - there was screaming! :arghh:
Three codeines and copious quantities of Voltarol gel later, after an hour scrunched up in the chair with a hot water bottle pressed against my arm, I managed to get the dinner ready as long as I keep my upper arm clamped to my body and only move it from the elbow.
T'internet tells me that it's probably a ruptured biceps tendon, often suffered by athletes and body-builders (sardonic hollow laughter).
I don't know what's the matter with me lately - I seem to be really accident-prone. :(
Can I get an "Awwwwwww...." ?
Hope it's much better by now. Take care

Need to rant about food dates. Ok we all know everything edible has a date on it but how useful are they to you. We look for stuff with the longest use by date which is fine until you open it then you find it says for example with the cream I have which says eat within 2 days of opening My husband does not eat cream and I can't eat enough to use a carton in 2 days even some cheese that I have says eat within 7 days of opening yet cheese keeps for ages longer than that and will still be alright. If you are on your own or like us just a couple then sometimes it is difficult to eat stuff up in the given time so it gets thrown away.
I was married 58 years ago and a long time before we had a fridge let alone a freezer. Food was kept in a larder and cupboards and used until it was finished it was only thrown away if it had literally gone mouldy. I know now that I waste stuff just because it has been opened and not used by the given time especially things like sliced meats, yogurts and other perishable foods I feel I have to do that because we are told it is dangerous not to and that is so annoying
