This arrived today and as a review will be quick, I'll do it now.
Dr Arthur Agatston MD is a cardiologist, in Miami FL who has written very popular diet books. Phase I is fairly strict on carbs but Phase II adds them back in.
The book is clear on the diet's principles, the shopping guide and FAQs. It's a cookbook not a diet book though.
If you can't buy a book with photographed carby dishes, then don't get this one.
On the other hand there are plenty of low carb recipes e.g. asparagus omelettes with goat cheese, vegetable frittata with Parmesan, sausage a.d cheese breakfast cups, hot scrambled tofu, Turkey patties with fennel, grilled Canadian bacon, lettuce wrappers with shrimp, baked tomatoes with crab, walnut soup, peanut butter stew, lots of fish and chicken dishes and even some medium carb desserts. Plenty of low carb dressings and sauces too.
A unique feature of this book, is how Dr Agatston persuaded high end restaurants and hotels to give him recipes and a few are low carb with some more medium carb.
Certainly this diet cookbook has food that would suit any special occasion, as well as the more humble breakfast.
