The State Of Your Fingers

I just recently noticed that my fingers(on which I test my blood sugar) are sort of "rugged", damaged by all the blood glucose monitoring with needles. I have been doing that for about 16 years every day, 10 times a day. Have you, who use similar methods of BG monitoring ever noticed any effect on your fingers or even any condition or finger disease?

I Don, t have any finger disease. But I tend to just test on my right hand because I find using my left rather Comberton
I have found where I test so much that the skin is hard and rubbery and now very difficult to pick my fingers

The ends of my fingers are fairly numb but still do get sore at times but no actual disease to report.

Mine are calloused so have slightly reduced sensation and have lots of black spots like a reverse night sky :)

As an aside, I had three excellent Libre sensors in a row and didn't do much driving those six weeks (so very few blood tests) and in that time my finger tips completely healed as good as new so I was happy to see there was no permanent damage even after 24 years of 8-10 tests a day.

20 years in April! My fingers show dark marks from where I've tested. My tips are very sensitive to pain and when I try and test on some parts no blood comes out as they are too 'hard' as I say. These days I just make sure I have new lancets and try less used fingers but ...I just feel it comes with the betes~
