Great. Thanks for posting the study and the quote. This is such a great example of how to take a "study" and transform it into a headline..
study is here
http://circheartfailure.ahajournals.org/content/11/6/e004531
I just love the conclusion from the abstract
"Conclusions: In middle-aged men, higher protein intake was marginally associated with increased risk of HF."
So we have a "marginal association" which I think is one of the weakest links of all transforming into
"may even cause heart failure and raise the risk of fatal heart disease."
I expect this kind of rubbish in the "Daily Mail" but in the Torygraph I expected better standards obviously in vain.
Edit to add the study was based on a 4 day food record...that's right 4 days....
not sure about the Times as I refuse to fund it..
It's the future. Or was that garlic bread? (Peter Kay)That’s it I’m coming off LCHF and buying a bucket of pasta!
So 2 centuries ago.. Banting's pamphlet was published in1863.. almost food history.. heritage dieting..?It appears that even food now suffers from its own form of diet fashionistas. Low carb is so last year dahling....
Nice come back...A retired GP commented on my weight loss so I said 'low carb' and his reply was 'another fad diet but it appears to be working for you'. To which I replied 'no, a life style/diet for my health as I'm T2! He didn't know what to say after that.
Thanks. I think I'm becoming a bit stroppy as I get older! As long as I don't get too cantankerous ............Nice come back...
