Hi all, as the title states things are changing, by this I mean my doses of insulin are going down for my basal and my bolus are also going down (I dont seem to be needing the same amount as im usec to for a correction or for my carbs ratio). My hypo and hyper senses shall we say are also changing and I don't like lol. I've been type one for yhe last thirteen years and this is yhe first time ever things have changed. After a hypo I feel like poop for the best part of 2 days and I'm now getting really bad headaches in my right temple when om in the late teens, I'm not sure if this is good or bad buy I don't like change when I've been so used to things being one wa. Had anyone else had things change like this, any replies welcome lol.

I think you're really lucky if not much has changed in 13 years! My doses of insulin have changed a lot over the years dependent on what the doctor has suggested, how much exercise I am doing and how many bad (ie yummy but sugary foods) I have eaten.

I've also noticed colds change my insulin needs (they go up) and being relaxed makes them go down!!

My hypo awareness disappeared when I kept getting lots of hypos in a short period of time. However they reappeared when the hypos stopped occurring so frequently.
The only way I can tell my sugar is high is thirst I think. Do u get any other symptoms?

I try to not get frustrated by the need to change my insulin doses. But it is a bit of a pain.

My doses have gone up and then in the last 2 years they've come down to the lowest I can remember im a long time. Yea I get thirsty and feel sluggish whem im high and when im lo I get all lightvheaded n light behind the eyes if that makes sense.

Has your weight changed at all? That might also be a possible reason for a change in your insulin needs.

I thought of that but when I lost 8 stone a few years ago n put bout 4/5 back on my insulin needs stayed the same. Sayin that ive again lost bout a stonr n half again so who knows, my gp thought of that too and said its a good possibility but o dont get why things are suddenly changing now and not before lol

Wow well done for losing weight! That's fantastic! That's one of the things I find very difficult to do.

I can't think of any other reasons for the changes so maybe someone else can be more helpful. I guess just keep checking your sugar levels just in case.....

Thanks but stress mixed with my diabetes was the reason for it lol ill go back to my drs next week if I can get an appointment, I check when I feel they need checking lol thanks for your reply it is muchly appreciated =)
