We all suffer punctures along life's highway. It is not failure its a challenge thats all.
I found the secret for me was to drop down to 2 meals a day, breakfast and a main meal in the evening. I am anal about my testing, whch I confine to my evening meal only, and I keep a food log. For the last 4 years I have kept my breakfst basically the same every day. It is a fry up which keeps me satiated till evening so I don't snack. I am also technically fasting for almost 12 hours twice a day which helps the blood sugars too.
By keeping breakfast the same, saves me from needing to make decisions first thing in the morning when I am not at my best, it gives me a repeating shopping list that is largely static in content, and I can then be more inventive about the evening meal. I do not need to test all day until my main meal so that saves me having to think about it, Having a routine makes the task much easier for me since there are no surprises except in the evening. It gives me a certain discipline, and a framework to work in.
