Hi

Looking for advice or help please

Went for a Well Man check at the beginning of January where I was given a blood test. Got a phone call telling me that my HbA1c was abnormal and could I come back for another test (booked for the 11th Feb).

Since then, I’ve had a summary letter stating that my HbA1c is 71. The leaflet says it should be 42.

Does anyone have any thoughts or advice please as to what I am potentially dealing with?

Thank you.

Yes.

You have T2 diabetes (or that's the most likely diagnosis).

Your body has lost its ability to cope with the amount of carbohydrates you have been eating so the best thing you can do is cut them out of your diet as much as possible.

If you are carrying a few extra pounds then cutting carbs will likely lead to weight loss too.
