Despite being at this for 6 months I still like to double check everything so sorry for the simple question!

My sugars have been generally a little high for the past 5 days or so. Averaging a between 7.5 and 9 before meals and 8 and 11.5 2 hours after.

Am I right to assume that I should increase my basal?

Possibly needs increasing but I would do a basal test first. Ensure all the QA insulin is out of your system ( nothing injected for 4-5 hrs ), then, test every hour for 4 or 5 hours. This is best achieved by skipping a meal or having a zero carb one. If your BG levels steadily rise, your basal is too low, and vice versa.

Second the basal testing before looking at your carb ratio's.

Thanks mo, I thought as much. Should I do it tonight? Had food and insulin at 8pm so would start testing at 12 I guess?

I would hang on tip tomorrow maybe unless you fancy a late night lol !
Definitely don't fancy a late night as I'm working at half 7 in the morning. If I do it tomorrow I'll need to skip a meal won't i? Am working a 13 hours shift so don't really fancy running on empty but also fed up of my levels being too high. 10.3 on last check :/

Leave it til the weekend then ? It's not urgent, just something that would be a good idea when you have time. Ideally, you need to skip a meal. I've been told an omelette or something is OK but some people still get elevated readings with eggs. If you can go without a meal, you get a true reading.
