Third cranial nerve palsy

Newly diagnosed with this. Dropped eyelid and double vision. Off sick from work and can't drive so very frustrating. Does anyone have any experience of this? Does it go on its own? What can I do to help improve? Rest or exercise the eye? How long does it take to improve? Thanks. Nigel

They haven't really told me much. It's linked to my diabetics ( type 2)...
