Henderson has been the most consistent of Liverpool players, but he hasn't been mentioned!
 

Tough one isn't it, there's almost an argument for losing tonight and not qualifying for the Euros too, I'm not being unpatriotic but unless this happens I can't see that there will be wholesale changes
 
I've given up hope for changes. I'm resigned to the fact that England will always be mediocre at best. I'm not being unpatriotic either, I am just so fed up with being disappointed in the team all the time.

My son went to the match last night and then partied through the night with his new Mexican friends! He has a trip to a small island now so I must remember to record the England match for him.....this doesn't bode well.....whenever we record a match we lose when we don't record it we wish we had. Sorry guys, I've promised my son I will record it, England will probably be soooooo baad and it's going to be all my fault.

I had a 'lucky T-shirt' that I used to wear to matches. I first wore it to the midweek Liverpool 4 Arshavin 4 match in 2009. It worked for quite a while, but then I put on weight and it didn't fit anymore...maybe it will now. Perhaps it will offset the bad luck from recording the match? I'd better go find it just in case.......

I agree with Zand.

If England win, there will be a wave of optimism for the 'youngsters', the tabloids will pronounce that with them we will win Euros 2016, the pressure will be immense and it will prove to be a false dawn. Nothing will change where it needs to change, business as usual will resume in the Premier League and European Cup and the money involved will become more obscene.

If we draw or lose, the clamour will be on to blame Hodgson and the senior players for the Italy and Uruguay performances, a younger squad will be brought in, and equally nothing will fundamentally change. But the young players against Costa Rica will have their confidence dented.

Cynical, moi?

(As for the match today, I have no idea how it might go).

Indeed, have been most of my life, ex season ticket holder, now I live in Devon I'll only make the 500 mile round trip if I feel it's worth it. Didn't go at all last season

For the first time in over twenty years, I didn't buy the new home kit, mainly there was too much blue and red on it, I don't like our new sponsors! It's bad enough being the poor relation around here without having a pound shop plastered in blue and red all over the front of your home kit!
Rant over! However, if I had, it would have been washed every game! What is a lucky shirt?

What do you hammers think of fat Sam? We have a hate relationship with Bolton because of him!
 
I wasn't too impressed when he was appointed, but he does have the experience to grind out some results (sometimes) and it's what the board needed to underpin their campaign to move to the Olympic site. I do miss the old West Ham style though, even though it rarely brought much success - the fans clearly don't like him that much - or rather they don't like his style - and he may find it difficult to survive another nailbiting season if things go wrong.

Anyway, kick off beckons ...
 
The boys are playing much better attacking football tonight although a little too late, would like to see Lampard get a goal in his last game for his country.
 
We have started quite well, playing a higher line, midfielders wanting to support the play always available, we are finding our players better and playing on the front foot. We are winning the ball back in their half, which makes a huge difference, just a goal now.
Goalie has done well, so far so good! Sturbridge has looked a threat llalana and Barklay a threat. Also we should have had a pen!

It's much better, not a lot to moan at!
 
He likes players over 6 feet tall, plays the ball in the air and doesn't like flair. Is that a fair assessment?
