This is my husband's consultant!!!

Thanks for hunting that up Phoenix
I'm all for beans, but the study doesn't explain the actual foods or the doses of medication. It does show that the HbA1cs were way above current NICE guidelines. It also says the diet idn't for the long term.
I think you aree right and it's low GI
Which works well for some people, particularly those whose insulin resistance isn't too severe and who have plenty of it.

Hi Hana,

Despite my earlier post, I completely understand where you are coming from. Not going to get personal about individual Drs though. Has your husband tried to push the lo carb approach with him? As I said earlier, I am considering lo carb...and the Drs opinion will not change this, but I will push for a response. the thing is...I haven't actually been seen at our favourite hospital since July..and they have moved my appointment for the 4th time to July. If I every get to see them again, will let you know, whether opinion has changed in the last 30 years! (sometimes I think that I am going back in time 30 years when I visit anyway)

Wishing you and your husband all the best, and hope you don't have to remortgage the house to park! I usually park in teh street outside teh diabetes centre and limit visits...when poss to 2 hours.

Ken, thank you! I am also veggie, which makes it more difficult, but I have to stop the excuses and just do it!
