Hello Ladies,

I only ask ladies this as it is about periods. I wondered how you all cope blood sugar wise when we get our hormones each month? If you feel comfortable to share that is

Low Carb & white knuckles @Fayefaye1429 :) Mine vary from month to month - some months I have more estrogen & am seemingly more insulin sensitive (just small rises) other months it's in the basement & I know I'll see higher numbers. I just plod along & try not to let it get to me as stressing will only make things worse.

Definitely have a risk of hypos during the first few days each month, tend to slightly reduce my bolus doses if it's that time. Others have reported having higher BG levels in the week before, but I only get the drop.

I get really big highs two or three days before. I plus my pump to 95% all day and correction units but nowt helps

I get highs beforehand but I'm type 2 controlled by diet, I am already low carbing (40-50 grams per day) so don't know what I can do?

Have always had low BG levels 1st-2nd day of period. So I just make sure I know when it is likely to happen & make sure that I am checking my BG regularly & adjust my insulin to suit. Has been like this for the last 21 years so obviously every now & then it does catch me out!!! :)
