Very interested in the u.s study of thyroid and diabetes and wonder if anyone knows the perameters for tsh last test said mine was1.5 and is a bit low so now wondering if this is raising my bgs as in the study so is 1.5 low and if so why has no treatment been offered? :?: :?:

Range for TSH is 0.35 .........3.3 mu/L according to my lab ranges. So you are within the normal range.

If you are concerned please discuss it with the GP.

Yes however in America they medicate you when your thyroid is over 3.5 - here in the UK if you are over 10! I found this out the hard way after finding out I had an underactive thyroid due to the auto immune disease (cause of Diabetes) and had to beg the Doctor for Thyroxin as I was very symptomatic. The Doctor at the hospital begrudingly gave me thyroxin (I was 9.5) and then I had a call from my GP the next week to say she thought I should go on thyroin due to the results she had received! At least it seems my normal GP has her head screwed on!
