Hi Ash
welcome to the forum
as it is such early days for you -- your blood glucose meter is your best friend.
this is the following testing regime i would recommend
getting up in the morning ( fasting) and before eating breakfast
2 hours after first bite of breakfast
before lunch
2 hours post lunch
before evening meal
2 hours post evening meal
before bed
doing this will enable you see what your bloods are doing through the day.
your diabetic nurse can advise on adjusting your insulins if you keep these blood records written in a diary.
hopefully you will get on a carb counting course in a few months to help in adjusting your insulin ( ask your nurse about this also )
and remember to take it 1 day at a time and try not to worry.
all the best !!
