Tingling in foot

Hi everyone,

I'm T2, over last couple of days I've had some tingling in my left foot, thought it might just have been the way I was sitting but it hasn't gone away, no weakness but constant tingling. I was at GP today and mentioned it to him but he just said he wasn't concerned as it's only been a couple of days. I said I was concerned it was maybe the start of neuropathy to which he replied 'all foot tingling is neuropathy'. Excuse me all over the place for my medical ignorance!

To be fair though, he was referring me for 2 separate hospital appointments for medical issues I've been having, this is not a good time for me health wise right now. Anyway, I just wanted to see if anyone can advise anything with this tingling, I have an appt with podiatrist on 28th of this month, will she be able to advise me further on this?

I'm not currently taking anything for my diabetes, came off the Metformin and Rybelsus as the side effects were horrendous, stopped the Rybelsus on Saturday as the headache and dizziness was so bad I could hardly see, my vision is still a bit off and the headache will not shift. I'm following my low carb diet with a little IF but I don't think this will be enough for my blood sugars. I don't want to contact the GP or DN again as I'm starting to feel like they think I'm a hypochondriac and it's not a nice feeling. I will possibly have to try the Metformin again, only other one I have is Alogliptin but I don't know how much that will help. Sorry for the long message, I'm just feeling rubbish with all this right now, these are the times when I just want all the bad food for comfort but I'm trying really hard to resist. Thanks.

Maggie

Type of diabetes
Type 2
Treatment type
Tablets (oral)
We can’t diagnose.
Your doctor can, though.
Did he examine your foot? Have you have a diabetic foot check recently, or is that what the podiatry appointment is for?

Thank you for your reply. No, he didn't look at my foot at all, just asked when my next HBA1C was which will be April and just said he wasn't concerned. The podiatry appt is for my diabetic foot check as my foot had been painful prior to this. Haven't had a diabetic foot check for over 2 years, had to fight a little for this one.
