I'm going swimming at a waterpark and i'm gonna be there from 10 til way into the afternoon, anyone got any tips for what to do with food and glucose and stuff

Hi don't know if this is of any help to you but I usually have something to eat before I go (nothing too heavy though) me personally I allow my bs to go a little higher say around 7. I also take snacks and if I'm not using their cafe I take my own packed lunch I either put these and my bs monitor and insulin in a locker and just keep going back to it when I need too or ask at the medical room if I can leave it there also I've once explained to the staff in the cafe area that I'm diabetic and can't really eat their food and they've said that's fine and store everything I might need away for me. A lot of place are pretty good if you explain to them.

I suppose you could notify the "lifeguard" on duty of your diabetes...? It could help the decision making in the unlikely event of trouble..?!
Have fun!

I also have soemthing like a banana before excercise to get my blood sugar up a little. I aslo wear a wrist ring saying insulin dependent in case I fall over!

Hi as suggested above give your gear to a life guard and keep a bag of jelly babies on hand with it too, I swim once a week and find my BG can drop afterwards, just keep testing every so often and have fun !
