My GP and nurse say I don't need to check my blood so have no idea what's happening with my levelsHave you checked your blood sugar levels when feeling so tired? It could be a sign that they are high.
Im normally in bed by about 10.30 and get up for work 6.30 sleep right through most nightsYou could try a few early nights to see if your body is just trying to catch up

May be a stupid question but if I get a meter how do I arrange for lances to be collected/disposed and get tub tof put used ones in if GP has said no to me getting a meterUnfortunately that advice is given to a lot of type 2s. Personally I'm really glad I took the advice of people on here and invested in a meter. I now have a clear idea of which foods are good for me to eat, and which to avoid and I can also test to see what is going on with my levels if I feel out of sorts.
If you can afford it, I would urge you to get a meter. Meters themselves are not very expensive - some are free - but the strips can be. Both the Tee2 and SD Codefree have reasonably priced strips.

Are you a T2 on lowcarb ? While some T2s can tolerate higher carbs, for some they're a source of rebound tiredness.Just lately once I get comfy on sofa I fall asleep even in afternoon at first I put it down to painkillers been given for trapped nerve in my back so left them off and used a lower strength ones but I'm still falling asleep or feel really tired I'm sleeping well at night so don't understand why so tired I'm type 2 on metformin twice a day and colestral tablet once day

It may also be a thyroid problem. Before diagnosis, I see now that I had a mixture of tiredness from eating too many carbs, combined with low thyroid. So I've had to ditch the excess carbs, and have the hypothyoidism treated. Before diagnosis of these two factors, I would fall asleep late afternoon/evening.
I'll warn you that low thyroid is possible with a normal TSH level (what GPs use a test for potential thyroid problems). All my reading on low thyroid convinved me I was suffering, and my badgering of my GP finally got me referred to a consultant, with subsequent medicating (levothyroxine initially)

Been taking metformin since about Sept last year I'm on laprazole once a day had gallbladder out February last year and still getting pains so still on that till that settles down also diagnosed with fatty liver last week told that may be caused by my diabetesHi @snookie09
I agree getting a meter is a very good idea. With testing, you will be able to monitor your glucose levels and identify which foods cause your glucose to increase more than others, and therefore avoid them etc. All good news
You mentioned you are taking Metformin but don't mention how long you've been on it. It's known that Metformin can lessen your absorption of certain vitamins in your stomach (complicated process). Other meds, such as PPIs or acid-reducing meds, plus many others, can also interfere with the absorption process.
I strongly suggest you ask your GP to check your Vit B12, Folate, Ferratin levels and your thyroid function as you may certainly have low/deficient levels. Also, it's worth having Vit D checked too.
If you check out Vit B12 deficiency symptoms, you may find you have more than you realise.
Unfortunately, GPs don't seem to be too clued up on Vit B12 deficiency so, if in doubt, check out the forum here for B12 issues https://healthunlocked.com/pasoc/posts and here for thyroid https://healthunlocked.com/thyroiduk
Good luck and keep us posted re any progress.
