I haven't looked after myself well at all my suar levels have constantly been hi. I feel so weak and tired 24/7 that even the simplest thing to do knackers me out , Ive got pains in my legs now and have suffered from depression the last year even tho this hasn't been diagnosed by the doctor I just no I have Been. I had a major gambling problem which basically lost me everything and I just gave up on life ,

Now I feel so weak and drained and ill I dont know weather to just go A n E or Book a doctors appointment

I no I need big help even sleeping I sleep a min of 13 hours a day and i hate it so much

Hi and welcome to the forum.
You need help but I don't think this is something that A@E would deal with.

Depression, gambling addiction, relationship problems and diabetes needs some specialist help long term as there isn't a quick fix.

If I was in your shoes I would get a G.P. appointment, be open and honest about what is going on and get him to refer you to appropriate counselling and specialist diabetes help.

These problems can be resolved with some outside help even if it feels pretty bleak at the moment and opening up here is the first step forward.

Hope this helps,

Take care.

Hi thanks for the reply , the only reason I mentioned a n e was because of how weak I feel due to not eating 3 meals A day I was goin periods of some times up to 4 days with out eating and just drinking coke or lucozade to top my sugar up so I wouldn't have a hypo when I say hi sugar levels I mean between 18 and 25 all day every day for a long time , and when I walk my shins feel like I've walk 2 Marothons back to back its so painfull

HI and welcome
Sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well. I know you said you have felt depressed but not diagnosed.
If you really feel that bad please ring your gp phone number who will give you an emergency doctor phone number.
How high is your sugar today as this will make you feel really rough, tired.
Please don't beat yourself up as we have our faults.
I was diagnosed at the age of 6 yrs old and am now 43 and until 7 years ago i never took my diabetes serious,
but i lost the sight in my left eye and my peripheral sight in my right eye, so my licience was revoked (sods).
I have depression as well.
But i just had a thought have you ever had your B!2 tested, as if that is low that can make you feel a bit low.
I have B12 every three months by injection at my surgery.
Just remember we are not doctors we only go by our own experiences.
But i think you need to get some medical advice.
Please let me know how you get on, as i don't want you to feel your on your own.
Take care
Tracey

Hi,

B12 is a mineral that the body needs. A deficiency can cause problems.

As you have been feeling low for a while I suggest you make an emergency appointment at your Dr's in the morning unless your blood sugars are staying high, then it has to be A@E.

Even if A@E sort out your immediate problems with your diabetes, there are long term issues with it that need to be addressed including how you are trying unsuccessfully to manage it, so still go to your G.P. and write everything down that you need to discuss with him with everything that is going on in your life.

Hi t probly the best thing to write down everything and take it to my doctor? my sugar levels are hi 24 7 , what I have told u is probly a meere 1% of my problems

I don't want to be a drama queen and go to a n e but at the same time I feel that might be best, so really just askin what every one else would do ? A n E or doctors thanks

I know I keep repeating this but I feel very weak

As I said in my previous post A@E if you have high sugars and they are high.
I also said there is a lot more that you have to sort out so you still need to see your G.P. as soon as possible.

I've just read this post and I'm worried about you. I think the others are right. You need to see your GP and it's possible he or she will prescribe anti-depressants for a short while, just to get you in a better frame of mind to manage your diabetes better. My opinion for what it's worth is that the depression needs to be treated first so that you can then start to make proper decisions about managing your diabetes.

Please, please, do stay in touch and let us know how you're getting on.

Was just wondering how you are getting on, Did you go to A & E.
I wondered if you also may need help with your problems for Example a consellor.
Was just concerned about you as you didn't seem in a good place right now.
You did the first big step by telling us on the forum, so you must have some fight in you.
Good luck and hope to hear how your doing soon.

hi, i have been in regular contact now with my doctor and diabetic nurse , my doctor did diagnose me with depression and have been signed of work, since then i have got my energy levels back by at least 65% i would say. im up before 7 every morning now and my sugar levels are between 7-10 in the morning, i am now taking metformin tablets as well which is slowly starting to take effect . i now haven't gambled for 10 weeks :)!!!! im signed of till the 24th of this month which is when i see my doctor next, so will find out more then :)

That is good news. Do keep up the good work. You'll find a good rest will have done you the power of good as well and, also, I think that going back to work will also help you by re-establishing a routine.

All the best

Dave
