Tiredness and sleep problems

I also have that sleep issue and tiredness during the daytime especially if it's a particularly hot day, yesterday was 36'c in my country and a real scorcher. What I have been doing over the past few weeks is to take a DPH capsule about half an hour before going to bed and that has worked for me. I still get up once or twice to visit the toilet but will resume sleep afterwards. Before taking the DPH capsules I would go to bed and my mind was constantly in thought or humming a song in my head so I just could not actually fall asleep. This went on for weeks at a time until out of sheer desperation I took a friends advice and reached for the DPH capsule. I have been getting 7-8 hours of sleep every night now.

When I had undiagnosed thyroid failure I slept badly and was tired all day, until at last I got a test done and my thyroid stimulating hormone level was about 4000 times higher than normal.

That's interesting, as I too don't find screens perturb my sleep at all. In fact I find sitting in front of my desktop calming, whereas a pre-bedtime telephone conversation with a friend, however anodyne, over-stimulates me.

What are your exercise levels like ? I'm at it every day and generally sleep fine. I went on epic cycle ride recently ~ 100 km in strong winds and was so tired slept through my morning alarms :-( I had really bad sleep problems when first diagnosed.

Fluctuating BS during the night can disturb my sleep and when this happens it's a struggle to get back to sleep.

Magnesium supplements can help , my stomach can't tolerate the tablets so I've moved on to spray and I'm virtually unconscious
