Does anybody else suffer from feeling tired as soon as they sit down ? im fine if in dong something but like i said as soon as i sit down i could go to sleep ,,,,, or is it just me :(

No, not just you... But theres allsorts of reasons for tiredness.. From one extreme to another.... Ie being so active outdoors say, then coming into a lovely warm house with food...
Or, being depressed and then sleep is a natural thing with that too..
If you go to any oap home to visit you'll see about 80% of them asleep in chairs during the daytime as theirs can be through boredom and non stimulation of their brains.
Think the worst possibilty for concern is some people can just fall asleep at anytime.. Driving, doing things.. Think that is a recognised health problem.

There are several causes of tiredness.
1. Running high blood sugars
2. Iron deficiency anaemia
3. Vitamin D deficiency
4. Vitamim B12 deficiency
5. Underactive Thyroid.

If you are not running high blood sugars, then get down to your GP and persuade him to test you for the rest. I was misdiagnosed with chronic fatigue, when I actually had Vitamin D deficiency.

I got diagnosed with pernicious anaemia 12 years ago.. Undiagnosed and injections stopped 3years ago. Paid privately to have an infusion of B12 intravenously given to me about 21/2 years ago. Levels now just above Pernicious Anaemia injection levels. Some mornings getting up is chronic... I just literally want to stay in bed all day. At moment though can actually stay awake once up.
Always worthwhile checking out tiredness with gp..although they can be less than enthusiastic for testing for illnesses such a Permicious Anaemia. I had to go to a dementia /stroke clinic before I was originally diagnosed. It was a different gp in Wales that 'wiped' it from my records and refused any more injections.

I feel sleepy when I'm hypo...it canbe ine of my symptoms-although most people will get when their levels have been high for a while.

Can I ask if you sleep well at night - both length of time and depth of sleep? There are links between diabetes and sleep apnoea, which can lead to massive daytime sleepiness (though not always)

Yep, I experience tiredness, and it goes back quite a while before it was discovered I was diabetic, m901161.
However, since becoming diabetic the tiredness has increased considerably.

The only way I can describe it is that it's like a cloud suddenly descending on me. I used to fight it off but as time passed I eventually had to gave into it as struggling to fend it off became exhausting.
I hate going to bed during the day, but I do have to lie down for an hour or so 3-4 times during the day. So, rather than actually going into bed, I lie on top of it with a light sheet over me and that appears to help stave off waking up feeling groggy.

Last year it became so bad I was sleeping in blocks of approximately 1.5 - 2 hours throughout a 24hour period, but I've managed to overcome that, though I still do have to lie down.
The silly thing's knocked my body clock right out the window/up the swanny ,or similar terminology.

The crazy thing is, I've insomnia and sleep apnea at the same time. The hospital provided me with a CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) machine after they gave me some tests.

The tests showed I stop breathing 112 times (approx) per 8 hour sleep. However, apart from waking up in the morning still feeling very tired I'm not actually aware I'd stopped breathing.
The figure of 112 is not all that high, some poor folks go way and beyond that.

My driving license is due for renewal this December, I'm not sure the DVLA will renew it, all is dependant on the health report I've to offer them after they contact me October.

Whoop-de-doo, isn't life a barrel of fun. :D

You made me think of something I failed to mention in my last post, MCMLXXIII.
When I need to sleep during the day as I mentioned earlier; I find the experience
a very pleasant and peaceful sleep, even it's the usual 1-2 hours, more so than when
I eventually manage to sleep during the night. Very strange.

Sigh, I guess my wife must be correct, she's been saying for years I'm strange.
