Yep, I experience tiredness, and it goes back quite a while before it was discovered I was diabetic, m901161.
However, since becoming diabetic the tiredness has increased considerably.
The only way I can describe it is that it's like a cloud suddenly descending on me. I used to fight it off but as time passed I eventually had to gave into it as struggling to fend it off became exhausting.
I hate going to bed during the day, but I do have to lie down for an hour or so 3-4 times during the day. So, rather than actually going into bed, I lie on top of it with a light sheet over me and that appears to help stave off waking up feeling groggy.
Last year it became so bad I was sleeping in blocks of approximately 1.5 - 2 hours throughout a 24hour period, but I've managed to overcome that, though I still do have to lie down.
The silly thing's knocked my body clock right out the window/up the swanny ,or similar terminology.
The crazy thing is, I've insomnia and sleep apnea at the same time. The hospital provided me with a CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) machine after they gave me some tests.
The tests showed I stop breathing 112 times (approx) per 8 hour sleep. However, apart from waking up in the morning still feeling very tired I'm not actually aware I'd stopped breathing.
The figure of 112 is not all that high, some poor folks go way and beyond that.
My driving license is due for renewal this December, I'm not sure the DVLA will renew it, all is dependant on the health report I've to offer them after they contact me October.
Whoop-de-doo, isn't life a barrel of fun.
