To eat or not to eat

Actually this is a good question as I wonder if the body would wake you up from sleep if it were to slip into a hypo due to low BS.

Can never sleep if im hungry, like my bodies telling me i'm too low to sleep. I try to keep to 10~15 carbs just to keep the hunger pains away at night, usually cause of the tail end action of the nova rapid from tea time. A couple of wholemeal crackers with a a bit of cheese,a few biscuits or if i'm feeling naughty a small plain choc bar. Or, if im too low before bed and not hungry just have a few sips of lucozade or very small glass of milk just to raise levels enough.

What levels do you prefer to go to bed on Brett, I like to be above 5.5 but below 7 if I can, if I'm on the low side but not hypo I'll have a oat cracker or two.

I'm happy going to bed at 6.5~7.5. Most i tend to drop overnight is 1.5 so morning readings between 5~6.5. That way theres also a bit of margin of error. Have been waking with high 4s more recently so il wait a few days before changing anything.

That sounds good, I think when you know how much your bg typically drops over night it makes it all the more easy to make adjustments before bed...... if need be.

Well didn't have a snack afterall as fell asleep at 21.30. Woke up at 04.15 and levels were 6.1? Not sure why. Took them again at 05.50 and down to 5.2. Was only diagnosed two weeks ago, so guess I am still learning, but goodness me my brain hurts!
