I think my eyesight is getting worse because of my diabetes T2, but was given all clear when you get the special diabetic eye test.
Optician but me on 2yearly cycle, but think they have changed within 12 months.
Do you think I should/could ask for eye test or should I just wait until 2 year period is up. I don't want to be a bother. thoughts please

You are entitled to a digital retinopathy test yearly.
Your G.P. should be able to arrange this. If you decide to use your optician then he may charge you as he has decided you only need a test at 2year intervals.but the one your Dr. can get for you is free.

In the UK, the NHS offers a free annual screening appointment each year to all people with diabetes, over the age of 11. Make sure that you get your appointment each year and tell your doctor if you do not.

As a type 1 I get seen for free for routine eye checks as well as retinal screening. I'm not sure if it's the same for type 2s but if it is you could go for an eye test at Specsavers. According to their latest adverts, they throw retinal screening in with their eye tests as standard.

As a diabetic your eyes can change much more quickly than other people's, if your blood sugar is quite variable. So if you have any concerns don't be shy about seeing someone. It's worth hunting around for one who knows about diabetes.
