I am Mate, from Hungary living in UK for almost 5 years. About 2 years ago i noticed that i drink so much more water than before, sometimes daily 8 litres! I started feeling fatique snd tiredness. Suddenly i had shingles on
my upper body, what made me finally go to doctor. Doctor said shingles in adulthood means that your immune system has gone totally. He sent me right away to the next building, where i went through an HVI test. Tesf was negative, but they said then i more lokely have diabetic problems. I was so scared to further investigations and to face with the shock,if i really have that issue. Shingles healed, life went on. However, after one year i was tired and sleepy all the time. I had to eat a lot of sweet,as i could not think eating without a lot of desserts. Despite the fact i have eaten a lot,a became scary skinny. The time has come to look after help. Went to GP this july, who checked my BG. It was 32,6,he said he cannot believe that i came in on my legs. He sent me straight away to hospital, where the investigation has started. After 10 days in,being on IV insulin, they let me go home. They said i have type 1,and insulin injection is reauired for a lfetime. More or less,i already accepted it and that is fine. However, since i came out from hospital, working is so mich harder, since i have constant pain in my soles. I am chef,so standing all the time. Before sole pain,i had serious knee pain, which is fine now, since i am wearing orthopedic support n them. But when i get home in my bed.the sole pain disappears,as there s no pressure on them. But my knees starts hurting as much,as i am dropping tears and cannot sleep even 1 hour. About 3 weeks ago also came more problems to my hurting legs. Numbness and burning sensation all over my leg. This could be neuropathy, right? Does anyone ever had similar sole and knee pain and is it related to neuropathy? Or this symptoms could be caused by the weak muscles that i have now,and without them my balance could be wrong and giving bigger pressure on my knees and sole? I went to urgent care and gp 6 times, but the best i could achieve so far is duloxetine pills. I am in the thord week of taking them and the burning sensation seems to be bit better now, nothing more. Can someone please give me a good advice what to do with sole and knee pain as i cannot work with that? Thanks a lot for your time in advance. My BG is under a good control but still have to improve.

Hi @Matteo1980, I am sorry to hear of your troubles.
Perhaps if you saw your GP about the pain in your knees and soles of feet he or she could advise on best treatment.
According to the medication information, duloxetine can be used to treat neuropathic pain but your knee pain may be caused by something different. Best Wishes.
