Today (due to the shortage of Trurapi) I start on Novorapid, my initial impression is how cheap the pens feel compared to the Sanofi ones, dial feels loose and flimsy. Used same dose 8 units with first food more to follow

I was given this as a replacement to Trurapi due to a national shortage of Trurapi, it could only be a temporary change
Hi Mark
I live about 20 miles from manchester and have an independent chemist and he has been struggling to get certain things.
He said the only chain that has remained stocked up is Boots.
This is his opinion and only mention it in passing.
When trurapi came out only certain regions of the country changed prescriptions for patients as it was cheaper for the NHS.

I'm about to change from Levemir to Tresiba and my chemist said he could get the pen fill cartridges ok but not the other version.
Thankfully i use a novo pen.

So since this morning posting 3rd jab with it and after a 5 mile walk my BS was 3.4 (this can happen with Trurapi) eating kept the same as usual my walk route was one I do a lot I would say up to now good results
thank you every one who replied

second day a rather high BG reading first thing of 8.6 maybe the hot weather too but unsure

4 days in now no major differences so worry over nothing (I hope) still waking with higher blood sugar levels but this may be other causes

Today (6/6/26) got a text from my local Boots to say Trurapi insulin is ready for collection. I now have 3 Novorapid unopened pens 5 still at my Tesco pharmacy (novorapid) and now the Trurapi to collect I would rather return to the trurapi, as this has been my regular bolus for over a year.
I don't know if this means Trurapi is available again or Boots have managed to get some from another store. will ask when I go to collect it tomorrow
The question now is do I finish the 3 novorapid pens or restart on Trurapi ???

I was on Novorapid for years but a couple of years ago I was told to save the NHS some money they were going to change me to Trurapi , I never noticed any difference .
