Maybe an answer, but an answer that he made up off the top of his head without any factual basis...

Unbelievable! Ask for another doctor. You deserve it. He is wrong on every count.

Change hospitals. You can choose any hospital and ask your dr to do this urgently.. Say you changing workplace etc so it doesnt look like you are moaning abouta professional.

Quite honestyI would go on to that hospitals website on nhs choices and review it... They should respond.. If you don't do it anonymously they can contact you to sort this matter out. It would also warn other patients.,..

Change hospitals, if necessary contact the diabetic clinics at the hospitals and talk to them... Work out which is best for you.

I did this before moving to Wales and when I moved back to England. I then moved gp's twice due to moving house but kept my fantastic consultant and hospital who are soooo brilliant..

Hi. You must ask for another doctor as this guy hasn't a clue. Take a copy of the NICE Diabetes Pathways document (Google it) next time and point out that your HBa1C target needs to be at least below 7.5 and preferably nearer 6. You need to complain to your GP and ask to go to another hospital. I'm looked after by my surgery and although my diabetes GP is still learning I have a superb DN who manages the insulin users

That would be the best approach, if there's other Dr's available then ask to see one of them, the nurse should put your file outside their room so there's no confusion.

I'm lucky as I always see the main Endocrinologist at the clinic, it's the same when I have my eyes checked as I always ask to see the same Ophthalmologist who happens to be the senior consultant, he knows me quite well and dealt with me when my retinopathy was active so it makes sense to see him each time.

No good just remembering who the guy is Indiana... You really need to do something about this.... You cannot guarantee that you won't have hom again... His info and advice is wrong. Fullstop...
