Twas my first visit of the year to see nursey and have blood etc taken. I like this one because she leaves less bruising than all the others including the docs.
After the usual homilies about not buying diabetic foods and spreading less ordinary jam on my toast (!) I learned other stuff, some useful.
As usual I was kept waiting so no surprises that the old BP was off the scale... white coat syndrome because I was ok when I got home...t
The blood letting was fine too as was the weighing and girth measurement.
Tickle time was OK except for a dull spot where I have skin on my sole, probably from all the walking.
Advised me I should rub lotion on my feet twice a week to lessen chances of hard skin and cracks etc. So I will do that. First time anyone there had said I should do this.
Was quite insistent I make another appointment but I cancelled it when I got home hee hee. Will wait and see what the letter says and I have an eye test in a few weeks so will do it all at once.
Various other things were mentioned including how there is a rise in ND DM2s in the age range 18-25... all the bad food they consume apparently. Not my kids I hope...
Asked if there was anyone on the staff who had DM in any form... no. There is a new DM nurse tho so I will try to see her.
There is no need to test more than once a week either apparently. The NHS is cutting back on issuing strips... no surprise tho I have enough for now.
That's about it... will add more if I remember owt else.
Hope you all have 'good' visits too... maybe I am lucky... maybe in some respects not. 8)
