Toe Nails

My BG numbers are pretty good overall - usually 5.5 to 6.5 and rarely over 7.7.

My feet seem in relatively good health - no pain or discomfort. However I have noticed that on three of the toes on one foot the bottom of the nail is now white/cream (across the full width of the toe where it would normally be pink/red) and it seems to be growing this way - ie the white area is increasing as the toe grows.

I am thinking this maybe something to do with my diet (ie low carb)- some vitamin/mineral I am missing?

Anyone else had the same thing - any ideas as to the cause please?

is it like a calcuim spot?

I'm not really sure what a calcium spot is/looks like - but I guess it could be that.

But I really wouldn't call it a 'spot' as it extends the full width of the nails.

Almost definitely a fungal infection. I've had one on big toe for over 5 years. They keep prescribing me tablets or lotions but just getting worse. Now it's ingrowing. Going to insist on a referral to podiatrist.
