False, patronising people who assume they know everything about me!
I currently have the 4th cold virus since Dec 11th...yes...thoroughly fed up now. I just wanted to know about 2 tonics that have been reommended to me, and whether anyone can recommend anything else. I already take zinc and vitamin C plus a garlic supplement. The 2 tonics are Metatone and Floradix. Grateful for any feedback...otherwise are there any vets who could come and shoot me?! :bigtears:

Found the following for you - personally I wouldn't take any of them - the first one the Metatone has glucose and fructose in it - maybe you should see your GP or speak to the pharmacist at your local chemist they are usually far more knowledgeable or have a look at the following and decide for yourself

product contains amaranth (E123) which may cause an allergic reaction. If this happens, stop taking the medicine and get medical help straight away.
This product contains glucose and sucrose. It may be harmful to your teeth.
If you have been told by your doctor that you or your child has an intolerance to some sugars, consult your doctor before using Metatone.
Metatone contains 11% ethanol (alcohol), i.e. up to 442mg per 5ml dose, equivalent to 11ml beer or 5ml wine per dose. This may be harmful to those suffering from alcoholism. This should also be taken into account in pregnant or breastfeeding women, and high risk groups such as patients with liver disease or epilepsy.

The only advice I would suggest is that you can do very little to help with colds other than to keep well by having a sensible diet, exercise and so on to ensure your immune system is as good as it can be. Most cures and medicines will sadly do nothing.
