Too many things going on at the same time - confusing

I’m sorry maybe I’m on the wrong forum but I am type 2 and struggling I’m ashamed to say my reading this morning was 20.5 a decrease from before
A reading like that would seem to confirm that you have come to the right place to take control of your T2D. Well done in reducing it. I would suggest you browse the Success Stories section of the forum to see what others are using to bring their levels down

I have had the seriously low carb rolls and loaves and didn't notice any adverse effects. Thoroughly enjoyed them actually but some people on here like you say have had some problems and if you do get them again they keep for up to 1 week in the fridge and they taste just as good if they have been frozen and thawed out - I am a bit funny about frozen foods but these are fine.

Thanks for that.

Thanks to all for the considerate responses.

Noting that I didn't intend to have so many changes at once.
Hence the rant.
I ordered the seriously low carb rolls before I was contacted to come in for my vaccinations, and started on them because I wasn't expecting complications (more fool me).

I am no stranger to low carbohydrates and ketosis; I suspect that I was still in ketosis when I tightened up my diet. I don't think that I have had any kind of carb flu before even when I first went low carbohydrate.
I must go into ketosis on my weekly bike rides anyway as I ride on just coffee, cream and butter (why not use a bike???) and I can ride 20-30 miles at the moment without needing any food. I do take extra salt.

This is one of the reasons behind this thread - an unexpected reaction which could be blamed on the double vaccination but which, through chance, coincided with other changes.

So far I have had a response from someone who has had the rolls but no adverse reaction.

I don't think I have had anyone who has had the flu vaccine this year, nor anyone who has had a combined flu and shingles double arm whammy in this or any other year. I am assuming that you get the shingles vaccine at your next regular appointment after your birthday and flu with everyone else at this time of year.
Because my annual review is scheduled around my birthday, which is in September, I normally get the flu jab as part of my annual review. Most probably don't.
Because of the timing I got my shingles vaccination at the same time so it is possible that only people with a birthday late September or early October which (as I understand, by the latest NHS guidelines) have their review around their birthday could have encountered this.

Anyway I am improving, although I still can get a touch of queasiness now and then. I can't recall this before even when I have been on a hard core weight loss drive and eating even less than I am now. Sometimes water fasting.

I don't have any obvious signs of a mild shingles attack (no rash as far as I can tell, but I do feel a bit itchy in random areas) and anyway it could be a reaction to this year's flu jab which is different every year.

I am going to order more rolls, and assume they were not the cause.
The first batch were an expensive trial (postage was more than the rolls) and because of all this I don't have a 100% yes/no decision but they did seem to be a useful bulk item plus added variety to meals.

About the forum - you are in the middle of a thread on a different subject (which can mean your post is hard to find in future by yourself and others when searching for a topic title).

In future it is best to start a new topic with some details of your question in the title.

However, no worries, welcome to the forum, and you are already getting useful responses.

  • Had flu and shingles vaccinations on the same day

Hi @LittleGreyCat,

I had the shingles and flu vaccinations a few weeks ago, but the flu jab 2 days after the shingles.
No reaction whatsoever to the shingles jab but the day after the flu jab (the over 65s version) I definitely felt fatigued and ended up falling asleep on the sofa for 2 hours in the afternoon, which I normally never do.
Apart from that no side effects.
Hope this is helpful.
