Insulin
I am currently 6 weeks pregnant and am on novo rapid and levemir...no matter what I eat I am having to inject at least 30 units with most meals is this normal and ok....can too much Insulin be harmful for baby?
Before each of my pregnancies I have had poor control but am very strict with myself when pregnant.

Congratulations on your great news :)If you need more Insulin, then your body is telling you that you need it. Another trimester will mean a lot less, so it can be up and down with the Insulin for a few months.

Good luck and I wish you all the best,

Best wishes RRB

Hi. 30 units would be high for a non-pregnant person but diabetes in pregnancy is different. Is your natural weight quite high? If so, that would help explain it. I wouldn't worry but if you do have excess weight apart from the forthcoming baby then some sensible adjustment to diet by reducing carbs a bit might make a difference but I wouldn't worry.
