I am type 2, still under height. 6ft and 15st 7lbs, having lost 3 stone in past 18 months. Diagnosed 3 years ago, been on same drugs ever since until recently.
Two weeks ago was changed from 2 X 500mg MR Metformin a day to 2 x 500mg Metformin straight ones.
Results brilliant.
Fasting tests first thing in AM 5.0 average for last 7 days.
Two hours after Breakfast, one slice granary bread toast, half fat butter, half a tin tomatoes and 2 rashers grilled bacon, blood meter says 5.1.
With the MR it was usually about 8.
Today same as usual, but have been busy, walking dogs, on phone, reading a sale contract for a meeting to-morrow, felt a little shaky and realised no lunch at 2pm. So rushed down home made two chicken sandwiches, granary bread. Felt fine.
Just now 5pm, three hours after sandwiches, thought I was going upstairs big time.
Shakes really bad, dizzy, fell over couldn't put one foot in front of the other, couldn't stop shaking, got my wife to help me with a test, couldn't even pick up the meter.
First test. 2.6. Sure it was an error, so got her to recalibrate meter, second test 2.6, did it a third time 2.6
She wanted me to go to Hospital, told her I wouldn't make it and to make me a jam sandwich immediately. Feeling a little better, but am I being overdosed?
