Re: Took 10 units and got these dizziness sweating brain fog
I hope you are still OK Sameer but if you are feeling shaky and sweating you need to take your blood glucose levels as you may well be hypo, and if your blood glucose levels are under 4 mmol/L or 72mg/dl you need to eat some fast acting carbs like a sugary drink.
Re: Took 10 units and got these dizziness sweating brain fog
Sid's advice is good Sameer. You have to check to see if you are actually hypo and if you are then take some sugar.(about 15g of carbs worth as here in a previous answer
If you don't have some glucose tablets then you should take some other rapidly absorbed sugar such as
• 2 teaspoons sugar or 3 sugar lumps
• 100mls Ribena (from carton)
• 3 glucose tablets or lucozade tablets
• 50mls Lucozade Energy
• 100ml cola or 7-up or Sprite (not diet varieties)
• 3 jelly beans or jelly babies or fruit pastilles
• 100ml unsweetened fruit juice (from carton)
• 2 teaspoons of honey or jam
You then wait 15 min and retest. If your glucose levels have not risen above 72 then repeat the 'treament'
If it is still more than an hour to your next meal then you should take 15g of slower acting carb
• Piece of fruit such as a small banana
• Sandwich with 1 slice of bread
• 1-2 digestive biscuits
• Small bowl cereal
• Oat based cereal bar
Sometimes in the US they use the term insulin reaction It means hypo.
Can you write down what level you were at when you felt like this?
Re: Took 10 units and got these dizziness sweating brain fog
No I was not hypo I was 116 mg/dl
That's the thing ???

Re: Took 10 units and got these dizziness sweating brain fog
Sameer, write down everything you eat, test your blood glucose levels as much as poss, write down how much and what time you took insulin, write down exactly how you feel. Keep doing this until you see your doctor next week. Give him/her all this information. Let him/her decide what your course of action should be.
Re: Took 10 units and got these dizziness sweating brain fog
I'm glad you weren't hypo.
One possibility (and remember I'm not a doctor ) is that you are getting false hypo symptoms because either your body has got used to higher levels so thinks that it is hypo when it is in fact at more normal levels or sometimes people feel symptoms when their glucose levels have just dropped quite quickly.
Read this article carefully, it might be a reason for how you are feeling.
What you need to do is to gather as much info as possible,. Write a diary with what you ate , when you ate, your glucose levels, whether you did any exercise and how you felt to show your doctor. That should help him decide on how to adjust/change your insulin.
Re: Took 10 units and got these dizziness sweating brain fog
I think we are making sense here
Ok I will write down what I eat !!!
And then do test !!!
For now before I eat dinner it was 116
I eat chicken roti
Some rice ( never use to eat ) some macaroni ( never use to eat ) since diagnose , now it's 20 min I feel I think 25 % better !!!
Thank you soo much
