If you live alone, then dont try to control bg levels too tightly overnight. Everything will come good in time but dont rush to jump in at the deep end.....stay in the shallow end for a while and get used to infusion set insertion and keep to standard bolus for a bit and not multi waves etc.
Just make sure that your GP prescribes enough teststrips......rough guide will be 250-300 strips per month as you will need to find your way with the carb ratio for the bolus and basal rates. Don't panic though.......a pump is only an insulin delivering device, its not a working pancreas gland.
