Yes had my breakfast and walked my dog just puzzled why it is coming down so quickHi, yes, that is a possibility that your dose is too high. Did you eat breakfast ? Have you done anything strenuous this morning ? If not, keep taking readings and speak to your nurse. 4.3 is not hypo territory but you wouldn't want to drop a lot lower.
I haven't totally reduced my carbs i am stilling eating bread but having granary I had 2 granary toast for breakfast and a chicken salad wrap for lunch I still eat potatoes but half of what i used to eat. It's quite a strong medication and it's doing exactly what it is designed to do. As I said earlier, 4.3 is nothing to get anxious about but keep an eye on your readings and you don't really want to be dipping under 4.0 if poss. Have you reduced carb intake as well ?
I have been to the doctors today i wasn't able to speak to my diabetic nurse but spoke to my other nurse she didn't seem concerned. Please contact your DR or DN as a matter of some urgency over the Issue of your taking TOO much diabetic medications. I'm not medically qualified but it does to me seem like you are taking too much now that your B/G has come down from the high 30's to 4.3 mmol/L as having come down to what is now a very acceptable B/G level you could be doing yourself harm.
I will do ty will test again in a hour got my coke ready just in caseJust keep monitoring your levels until you are able to speak to your DSN. If you go lower than 4, have a snack, bread and butter or similar. Don't go to bed lower than around 7 or 8 if poss, just in case your dose is a little high and you drop in the night.

Ty i take 60mg breakfast and 60mg with my dinner hopefully will get to speak to my dn tomorrow because it is stressing me and as a new diabetic was diagnosed september last year everything is new to me.You might need to investigate adjusting timing and size of dosage. Do you take all 60mg before breakfast? I take 100mg per day, but only 20mg before breakfast, otherwise I'm hypo by lunchtime. Everyone's metabolism is a little different -- you may need to tweak timing and dosage until you find the combination that works best for you in keeping your sugars stable. My DN encouraged me to take control, test and adjust dosage accordingly.
The good news, though, is that your pancreas is still in good shape, so all the more reason not to strain it by taking more meds than you need. Good luck!
Probably "diamicron" (gliclazide MR) 30ml is equivalent to 80mg of normal release per BNF.Gliclazide has very different effects from person to person depending on the state of the pancreas. I was on 320/day with little effect whereas you appear to have a pancreas in a reasonable state. You almost certainly need to reduce your dose as 4.3 is too close to the wind and you mustn't drive at that level. I didn't think you could get 60gm Glic tablets?
