I am pretty new it using insulin (metform had too many side effects for me) and have been injecting for about 2 weeks. I started on 10 units then was put onto 12 and will probably go higher once the DN has phoned for my readings. Looking at my readings they don't seem to change much over the course of using Toujeo, am I expecting too much to start with or it toujeo a cheap version ?

definitely not a cheap version! tujeo is good insulin (and not cheap, twice as expensive as levemir). It's just that doctors start with the lowest dose to avoid overdose and slowly increase it until they realize how much insulin you need.

Thank you, I did wonder about them working up to higher doses it was just that it seems to be hoving no effect. I chose to go on Insulin myself as I was having so many bad events from Metformin

the problem is that for some people, 1 unit of Insulin is enough, and for some, 100 is not enough, but since an overdose is dangerous, the dose is usually increased very gradually, literally by 1-2 units in 2-3 days. So if you have high insulin resistance, this process can take a long time.
