Training in Insulin Injection

Dsn is his diabetic nurse. But his mum could organise that... or as said, perhaps mum would put a needle on end with no insulin in and show you... and you would know how it feels etc...

Make notes for yourself too, to refer too if its occasional rather than regular sleepovers etc. Ie change needle, do anairshot, dial dose, push in skin, count to 6 or 8 or 10... remove etc....
You both would need to go through the method together that mumand son would like.. ie if he hasaninjection15 mins before food, or after food etc....

To me I think it is a good idea. There are always unforseen emergencies in life and its good to know that there are plans in place for these times. Makes things easier for parents for sleeepiverstoo I would imagine.crikey, even as an adult I panic going anywhere overnight checking I have everything etc... and I'm a T1 of over 30 years!! I cant imagine how parents feel with sleepovers!!

I honestly can't imagine and thats why I admire a friend wanting to help and thinking ahead... very caring (and courageous).

Nothing worse as a child to feel different to friends with sleep ivers, etc and this (to me) is trying to think ahead to minimise worry and enhance normality for a child.
