l'd like to become a diabetes specialist nurse, how do l go about it? l am an RGN with a CIDC from Warwick Medical School.

I would suggest that in the first instance you give the Health Learning and Skills Advice Line a ring.........it is an NHS organisation who should be able to advise you correctly on what exactly is required.

Just a basic check shows that you need to have extra training and also experience in Diabetes before you even get started. There are various courses available to assist you to get further qualifications and experience.

The contact details are in this extract from the NHS Careers website:

The Health Learning and Skills Advice Line is here to help, whether you want to develop new skills, improve your job prospects or change jobs completely. We'll help you every step of the way. You can call us on 08000 150 850 to talk in confidence to one of our friendly, trained advisers.

So if you are looking for information, advice and guidance on your career, perhaps you would like to continue studying but are not sure what course is right for you, or maybe you need some help with identifying how you can move up the career ladder, then give the Health Learning and Skills Advice Line a call on 08000 150 850.
