Has anyone had hypos that they can link to taking tramadol? I'm in a lot of pain with gall bladder issues. I experienced the above last time I took them with a bad back?

What other meds are you taking?

How do you know you had hypos? Did you test your blood sugars at the time?

Tramadol make me very sick, so I can't take it, I had an accident, so my blood glucose was quite high anyway.

Since surgery my insulin needs have reduced dramatically (about 1/3 less insulin over a day)

This is a known phenomenon where stress increases blood sugars and therefore removing the stress (pain) drops bgs too much resulting in a hypo.

Its a thing apparently.

Hi
The hypos were all at night time. I went down to 2.9 after taking no other new tablets. It happened each time I took them.

HI @Debz2451, I found an article on webmed.com - Tramadol linked to low blood sugar -(2014) which states that tramadol use has been linked to hypoglycaemia in diabetics and non-diabetics. The reason for this effect was not known.
