Type of diabetes
Type 2
Just declared my Type 2 Diabetes to Thomson insurance and it's going to cost me an extra £17 on the initial policy fee. Does anybody know if this is normal? My car insurance company are not bothered that I've just recently been diagnosed and haven't charged me extra and I use my car everyday. Is it normal to be charged extra?

Thanks in advanced and sorry if this has been posted elsewhere.

There are plenty of insurance companies out there who do not charge any xtra go to compare the market .com you will find all you need.

But make sure that you do delclare it, because if god forbid something does happen to you whilst you're away, even unrelated to your diabetes and they find out your policy will be cancelled and you'll have to find the costs yourself

I went to insure and ho they were brill I declared type 2 no extra cost and I am long haul flight try their site I gound them the cheapest and it was easy to sort online

I think you will find most companies will charge a small premium if you are older and have conditions such as diabetes. I have upgraded my high street bank account at a small monthly cost to include Worldwide travel cover and it includes a long list of conditions they cover without needing to know. For USA travel it's a great saving

I've got worldwide travel insurance with my bank account. I have to declare my Type 2 and renew the declaration each year. It doesn't cost me any extra.
