I currently inject liraglutide (victoza), and as part of setting up travel insurance. They have asked me if I take insulin. Is liraglutide classed as insulin even though it is synthetic? I want to make sure I'm fully covered, thanks for any help.
Just tell them what you take and they will sort it out.It didnt cost me any more when I told them I was diabetic, but Im just on Metformin. It may be different with insulin.
Thanks for the reply, unfortunately they weren't very clear, told me to check with the doctor, but I think might be ok as I don't need to declare to DVLA, might just check with diabetic nurse when I'm there next week, thanks again.

Just watch the various consumer programmes, insurers can be ridiculously pedantic when it comes to coughing up. "But you didn't tell us you were diabetic before you travelled."
