Travel to USA for 9 months

Hi all.
New to this so please bear with me.
My son plans on going to the USA for 9 months with a exchange visa at the end of March, and I’m trying to work out how to get his medication and medical supplies for his pump across to him. I can’t seem to get clarification from anybody as to whether his infusion sets etc will be allowed through US customs if I send him his usual order every 3 months.
Basically asking if I can send his prescription medication and sets etc to the USA?
All advice appreciated

Do note in the UK if going abroad for more than 3 months then the NHS expects you to find a doctor to prescribe what you need where you are, and are supposed to decline any prescriptions (as far as I can see)
IF not in the UK then not sure what your options are.
If you do a Google search there are quite a few results from various NHS areas stating such, one such document is: http://gmmmg.nhs.uk/docs/guidance/GMMMG-travel-abroad-guidance-final-v2-0.pdf, see section 5.6

Many thanks
2 great replies..
I’ve sent a question to the US CPB, so hopefully I’ll hear from them in a couple of days.
I’m more concerned about whether I can send his infusion sets etc via courier, but it all seems a bit unclear at the moment.
