We have booked a holiday to turkey, first time since been diagnosed 2 months ago

Can someone help me with a few questions please?

Do I need a letter from the doctor?
Can I take glicazide & metformin on the plane?
Can I take them in to turkey?
What do I do with my lancets for security?
What do I do with my lancets on the plane? Just keep in my bag or give to air hostess?

Many thanks

With respect to your lancets:
- keep them with you at all times
- they are very very very unlikely to appear on any security scans (I have taken lancets and needles on about 100 flights and no one has ever commented)
- do not give then to the air hostess
- take (or pick up) a small bottle to store used lancets.

My reply is for the airports in Turkey;

You can take all your Diabetes medication and supplies with you.

If and When requested, you need to prove your condition preferably with a Doctor's Letter but, also a Diabetes ID Card with your name on it or a Diabetes Bracelet or Necklace will usually do the verification and the security staff is well trained for this.
