Hi All .

Are there any tree/grass pollen sufferers about ?

How do you cope - deal with it ?

Does it impact on your blood sugar levels ?

Anna .

James has In the past suffered badly with hay fever but has not showed signs of affecting his BG's and to date he is not suffering. Although he has been taking Lotradine antihistamines for the last few weeks to get the into his system whilst taking his GCSE's so far so good and the pump is doing well too.

Hi all, I've suffered from hay fever for 40 years. Where I live we're surrounded by fields of rape seed oil which I see as the enemy  The weather's been cool so at the moment I've been okay but antihistamine tablets are here if required. First year I've had type 2 and hay fever so waiting to see if it will change my BS levels - hope not!

I've had hay fever almost as long as my diabetes and have never really found it affects my blood sugar as long as I keep up with the antihistamines. I have to change them every year otherwise I find they're not as effective.

Hi All .

We are drowned in heavy tree pollen here .
It has fallen thick and fast all over the gardens .
[we are overlooked by many trees so little chance to escape it !]
My car is covered in it all too .

As result I am really suffering badly from it all .
Nose bunged up , itchy gritty eyes , sneezing badly and often !
Hate it :x Feels like it is never going to end .

Doctor has put me on a nasal steriod spray it seems to only offer me
temporary relief too ...
My blood sugars are yo-yoing a bit with usage of this also :(
So annoying as feel I cant win either way !

Anna .

Telfast (fexofenadine) works reasonably well for me (but not 100%) and being non sedative it does not make me drowsy or affect my driving, but more important, it does not affect my blood glucose

Oh thanks Hobs for this info :D

I will ask my doc about this ...
The bonus of it possibly not impacting on my BG levels is certainly ' very ' attractive !
Its bad enough with just the hay fever symptoms alone .

Have used Piriton in the past and it left me too muggy headed .
This is why I was given the steroid nasal spray .

It is that bad now , staying indoors more to avoid the pollen breezes etc - I feel a quite weary with it all TBH ... :x

Anna.
