Hi I know tresbia is a 48hr long acting or 72hr long acting insulin..

Asking for advice in case this ever happened.

I inject my insulin tresbia 24u at 10pm every night what would happen if I took twice the amount this would cause my blood sugar to drop.

I was wondering how soon would you see it would it take a few hours then you suddenly drop?

I did end up at AnE other night because I thought I injected twice so i panicked and ate and drank loads and went high to the point it read hi on my meter so I panicked and checked myself in. Waste of time in the end.

Thanks

Hi @Damonite
I'm not a tresiba user myself, but this idouble dosing s a topic that comes up fairly frequently on the forums.

Unfortunately when you double dose a basal the effect lasts longer than a bolus, though it is milder. Everyone's different but I would expect the drop from a basal to be much slower than for a bolus, so though you need to keep testing you've got plenty of time to do corrections.

Do you have a libre or dexcom? They can make life a lot easier as regards this sort of situation.

I'll tag in @Antje77 who I know uses tresiba.

I hope you are feeling better now.
