Ever since my blood glucose kit was taken away from me last Wednesday by my doctor, i am now waking up in the night every 2 -3 hours needing to urinate and i feel like that i should buy a kit to test my sugar levels as i am worried at what my levels are right now.

have you changed your diet in the last week? - if you were doing ok and getting good results on your diet with a meter you should be ok still as its only a week since you tested - I would say yes you need a meter even if you have got your diet right and were getting good numbers so that you can keep on top of things such as new foods or if your feeling "not right" - but don't buy one - get onto the meter providers they will usually give you one for nothing as you are going to be buying their strips!

If you get a free meter from somewhere you may find that the strips are pricey. It might be more cost effective to buy an SD Codefree meter from Amazon, as the strips are a LOT cheaper than other makes.
