I've been on 2g of Metformin for around 4 years, and was taking gliclazide until recently. This didn't seem to work, so was prescribed alogliptin to replace the gliclazide. Side effects were bad - I felt ill constantly, and had to stop taking them. I have now been prescribed Trulicity, and had the first dose 6 days ago. The first 3 or 4 days were fine - felt slightly queasy at times, but nothing bad. Then Saturday night, I was up every hour with extreme diarrhoea although I felt fine. Sunday night I was up at 2am, and never got any more sleep. More extreme diaorrhoea, but this time very painful cramps. I haven't eaten now for 36 hours, just about feeling well enough to try something later. Are there any tricks to eating to avoid the horrendous diaorrhoea ? I have to admit, my daughter was visiting on Saturday, so we had a takeout pizza - would this have affected me so badly ? would I be best just having very small , low carb meals ? I'm nervous about taking the second dose due tomorrow, as I've been basically out of action for two days
