Hi and welcome to the forum. Yes I was on Victoza, another drug in the same group. There is a world wide shortage due to the heavy promotion of these meds being prescribed off label for weight
loss in non diabetics. Boots have told me that they won’t get more til later this year

Thanks for your reply. What have you been put on instead?
I’m back on Metformin, which isn’t ideal for me. However I just found out this new guidance, so I have a phone appt. with my gp next week. Basically it says that patients who run out of these injections should be prescribed semaglutide tablets instead.

Our response to serious supply issues of drugs for people with type 2 diabetes
The global shortage in supply was partly due to a surge in off-label prescriptions of the drug semaglutide being issued for weight loss, which was exceeding supply. Previously (since the summer of 2023) all stocks of GLP-1 RAs had to be reserved for those already using these medications...
