Truvia

Stevia is the name of the plant that is used to make Truvia. Yes it is ok provided you are ok with sweetners. It is a natural product rather than artifically synthesised, but you can apparently purchase stevia powder, Trucia ia a brand name,

Hi @Pugsy and welcome to the forum!
I use different sweeteners including truvia. It is stevia based but uses erythritol as a bulking agent. It is ok for diabetics, but it does carry a warning that excessive consumption may induce laxative effects.
Most of the other sweeteners I use are 1:1, ie one teaspoon is equivalent to one teaspoon of sugar. Truvia is a lot sweeter, and one third of a teaspoon is equivalent to one teaspoon of sugar.
I only use it in my coffee, one sachet of Sweet'nLow and one third of a teaspoon of truvia.

I made a low carb cake using Truvia. It was very nice, but there was a long lingering sweetness in the mouth afterwards. Not unpleasant though.

Stevia is just that Truvia I think has another sweetener added to it.
