Not much new to regulars here I suspect but should the book be available in the UK it might be a goer. This is not so much a book review as a personal take on how a Type 2 reconfigured his diet and health to the better compared to the official line. Once again my veggie friend will take issue with the carnivorous lifestyle and it is beyond most of us anyway but even so... 8)

Thanks Jim, Cordain is the like the "Father of Paleo", it was his research and his book that launched the whole "Ancestral eating bandwaggon".

Like most pioneers, other people have built on his work and developed his ideas, which make some of his work appear a bit out of kilter with the more recent Paleo advocates (he was originally anti-saturated fat, but is supposed to have revised his opinion recently).

Robb Wolf is one of his proteges and (in my opinion) provides a more readable access point to the wonderful world of Paleo.

It's also worth noting that the whole Paleo movement is moving away from "low-carb" as some people are pushing "safe-starches" such as sweet-potatoes, but most Paleo adherents are definitely "lower-carb" and all of them are "anti-grain".

:lol: ....when I want to be :lol: How did your BBQ go, was it as good as expected with the new fancy gas barbie
 
Went really well thanks!! :thumbup: It was nice to be able to cook all the food thoroughly without burning it to a crisp(according to the wife!) but I don't half miss the smell of the charcoal burning but then again,I sure don't miss cleaning out all of the ashes afterwards! :lol:
 
That's the good thing about a gas barbie that you can control the heat. I always pre-cook the food in the oven first and finish off on the BBQ to give it that flame-grilled flavour, it saves a lot of mess and time cleaning the BBQ afterwards and pre-cooking ensures that the food is cooked thoroughly (had a bad stomach once after eating at a friends Barbie).

I was finished today after lunch and don't start back till Wednesday, I was tempted to have another tonight or tomorrow night but the weather has turned somewhat, hopefully Sunday & Monday will be better days
 
I'm hoping to do the same and hoping the weather will pick up again,storms where I am at the moment{sigh} but monday or tuesday would be good! :thumbup: I always pre-cook chicken now for the same reason as you-Delhi belly!! Not nice at all!{groan}
 
It's not a Paleo BBQ unless you kill the meat with your bare hands first!

Actually - there is something kinda stone-age about the way that men who never cook in the kitchen are somehow compelled to do the cooking as soon as fire is involved.

Don't mean to dampen your spirits but watch out for the remains of Tropical Storm 'Beryl' that is expect to hit the country on Monday/Tuesday. 70mph winds and heavy rain forecast. Not good BBQ weather, even palaeolithic man would stay in his cave
