Thanks trinity - i should have mentioned that i don't eat red meat and pork. But now you've mentioned that, I've realised I could always cook a bag of mushrooms in butter (costs £1) with an egg.I make a pancake out of whey protein powder and a egg and a bit of liquid, then some sauce with cream and dark choc, sweetener and sugar. Fills me up u too lunch. Not sure of the cost per meal though!
Bacon and eggs wouldn't be too expensive? Go for streaky bacon
Thanks AtkinsMo - I think this is looking to be my preferred option. I wasn't sure if eating so many eggs was ok, but it doesn't seem to do any harm to the people who do eat a lot.Eggs. Nearly every day I have a 2 or 3 egg omelette. I vary the fillings, mushroom, tomato, bacon bits, cheese, boiled ham or all the lot. sometimes smoked salmon for a treat (a bit more expensive. That is totally filling and I don't normally need to eat again till evening. Use butter to fry your omelette, or olive oil or coconut oil or lard, no vegetable oil. That will be well within budget and set you up for the day.

This morning I ate some muesli and natural yoghurt (yes, I know, I shouldn't have had the muesli but I thought I would use it up) and had stomach pains and felt quite ill and dehydrated afterwards, so I've got to jump in and be disciplined and make the change.
Thanks AndBreathe - I had some mackerel fillets yesterday and enjoyed them. Do you put veggies on the side when you have canned fish for breakfast?I know it can be a bit of a challenge sometimes, but eat whatever you like to eat (bearing in mind your desire to low carb), even if it's not a usually recognised breakfast food.
If I'm going to be very busy, and have a longer than usual period between breakfast and lunch, I quite often have sardines or mackerel. I know canned fish isn't a usual breakfast option in UK, but it keeps me going ages and, provided I avoid a heavy tomato sauce option, it's extremely low (no) carb - and well under £1, if you buy in Lidl or Aldi.
My OH doesn't much enjoy it when I have the fish breakfast, as he is highly allergic to it, but I just sit well down the table if he's around at the time.Needs must.

(I just bought some sardines with lemon from Waitrose to try).
Try a 2 egg omellete with a slice of cheap ham chopped, half a chopped tomato, with a good pinch of mixed herbsTest to see if you can manage 1/2 a lidl high protein roll with lots of cheese toasted

Sound expensive, but if you do it right it really isn't - Smoked Salmon & scrambled eggs. Most supermarkets do "off cuts" at around £1.50 for a packet which does 2 breakfasts easily and a couple of eggs, or you could always go done the yoghurt/fruit route frozen berries aren't expensiveand big pot of plain greek yoghurt will last several days
Thanks vxrich - I'm not a big coffee drinker - but I am sure that someone reading this may find it helpful to know how to make bulletproof coffee.Homemade bulletproof coffee! I add 30g coconut oil (a large pot is £3.99 from Home bargain and lasts a week or so) 20g butter (I use Kerrigold but have used Morrisons own @ about 89p for a block) your own choice of coffee and double cream (again Morrisons own about £1.60 for large pot) to a large mug. Add boiled water, whisk and enjoy! I tend to put the cream in last to give the oil and butter chance to melt. Really filling and practically no carbs. Ingredients last a while too so well under a £1 a go. I normally have one of these coffees along with scrambled eggs (3x large eggs mixed with butter) I've got a very good appetite but this does me for quite a while!
Ps I'm too tight to buy the real Bulletproof coffee!
